Who To Turn To When

 

Just like any business, Girl Scouts have a protocol for who to contact in case of a need or complaint.   To keep a good working relationship within our Green Oaks Girl Scout Unit, leaders need to be aware of who to contact for what issue.   Please see the Green Oaks Team Roster for names and contact information for the ladies below.  For a leader to call Council directly instead of going through the chain of command gets her nowhere and often she will just have to leave a message at Council.  Council usually will not only not answer your question or complaint, they will turn around and redirect the leader to contact the person in her Service Unit that the leader should have called in the first place. Below is a list of Team members and the reasons that you should contact them:

School Coordinators - These ladies should be the first person that you contact in case of a need or complaint unless it is specific such as registration, camping i.e. They will be the ones to help you with running your troop and will sign off on your regular troop activity requests. They are also the first to check over your finance report before turning it into the Unit Finance Manager.

School Representative Director - This Team member is the one that you turn to if you cannot get an response from or have a conflict with your school coordinator.

Service Unit Manager - If you have an issue and have not be able to resolve it with your school coordinator or the director then you need to contact the SUM. However this should ONLY be done after contacting the others first. The Service Unit Manager is also the Team member who signs off on out of town Troop Activity Requests.

Finance Manager - If you have any questions about bank accounts, finance reports or tax exempt numbers you need to contact his Team member. (Please see Finances)

Registrar - She is the one that you turn to if you have any registration questions, need deposit slips or need help with financial assistance forms. (Please see Registration Guidelines)

Outdoor Consultant - You should contact this lady if you need any type of outdoor event Troop Activity Request signed or need help preparing your troop for a Camporee or outdoor event.

GIFTS for Girls Chair - During the GIFTS for Girls campaign she is one to contact for questions, forms or other helps. (Please see GIFTS for Girls Campaign)

Fall Product Chair - This Team member is the one to contact for questions or forms for QSP and Nut program which make up the Fall Product Campaign. (Please see the Fall Product Campaign)

Cookie Chair - She is the one that you contact about any questions concerning cookies (not booths) and placing reorders during the cookie campaign (Please see the The Cookie Sale)

Cookie Booth Chair - While cookie booths are going on you need to contact this Team member to schedule, cancel and answer questions about cookie booths. (Please see Cookie Booths)

Event Registrar - She is the one to contact to pay the deposit or balance for a unit event such as Thinking Day. If you have questions concerning the event then you need to contact the Team member who is in charge of the event (Please see Unit Events)
