The
Council will conduct a criminal background search for all
prospective troop/group leaders, assistant leaders,
and any other adult volunteers who work directly with girls and/or
handle Girl Scout funds.

All adults that
are working directly with or chaperoning girls to and from a
location outside the troop meeting place
must complete a Volunteer Application/Consent Form and have a
favorable background search prior to the event.

What this
translates to is:
1. All registered
adult Girl Scouts must turn in
background check forms
2. All adults who
work directly with the girls must have background checks run and
cleared before the troop event.
3. All adults who
work with Girl Scout funds must have background checks run and
cleared before handling the monies.

Beginning Early Bird Registration in May 2008
Adult registration forms will not be accepted unless the
adult has already cleared their background check or a
form, with social security number on it, accompanies the
registration. NO EXCEPTIONS! |
