Places To Go

One of the things that girls like to do best is visit new places. It's even better when they can combine badge work with a field trip. Please use these links to choose outings for your troop.

When planning a field trip with your troop it might be a good idea to:

Consider your girls' ages, abilities and interests.
If you decide to let them choose their field trip, give them no more than three choices.
Let the girls help with the plans.
Where will the money come from?
Have dependable, reliable transportation.
Make sure your permission slips and troop activity request are signed.
Have emergency information on each girl.
Plan your trip well in advance.
Have adequate adult supervision (check Safety Wise for girl to adult ratios).
Ask about group rates or educational tours.
Know what to expect in the way of time limits and if you need to bring any items.
Confirm your field trip a few days before the event.
Establish rules with the girls and adults before you go. Assign girls to adults.
Take lots of pictures.
Send a thank you note afterwards.
