Four Steps to Successful Communications

  1. Tell them what you're going to talk about.

  2. Tell them.

  3. Tell them what it means.

  4. Tell them why it is important for them to know it.

For Example, during a parent's meeting...

"Next I would like to discuss the girl's health form (step 1) Each girl needs to have a complete health form on file each year (step 2) This means that this paper needs to be totally filled out including vaccination dates. (step 3) Without a health form on file, your daughter will not be able to participate in troop activities (step 4)
