Cash and non-cash donations to troops require the following procedures.  All contributions, other than In-Kind donations, should be reported as INCOME on the troop finance report.

Please Note: Even though Council acknowledges the donations the troop
 should write a thank you note of their own.

Monetary Donations

Any designated donation monies received from a foundation, corporation, government entity, or individual (including recognition of volunteer service hours) received on behalf of a Citrus Council troop, service unit, or individual member will be accepted and recognized by Girl Scouts of Citrus Council, Inc.  The Council will return 50%, not to exceed $250. of the donation to the designated troop, service unit, or individual member.  The balance of the donation will be deposited into Council's financial assistance fund to benefits other Girl Scouts within Citrus Council.

Non-Monetary or In-Kind Donations

These are donations of goods or services received from a company, business or individual. These donations should be reported on the In-Kind Contribution Form. The donor should list the item or service on the form, put in a monetary amount and sign it. Council cannot put a monetary value on any donated items or services, only the donor can. The form should be given to your Council representative.  Remember to retain a copy for your records and to submit with your finance report
